Red meat  tastes delicious and can be prepared in many ways, but you should only eat it in moderation!

Of course we need high quality proteins, but these can also be found in other foods. We recommend that you create a weekly nutrition plan to supply your organism with all the important nutrients. Note, however, that  red meat should  only be available in small quantities. 

Various studies have found that red meat has many health disadvantages. Don’t forget that red meat can also be found in sausages, ham, and bacon!

Red meat is harmful to health

Processed red meat products, in particular, are high in  saturated fat, salt, and calories. You are doing your body no good. On the contrary: Sausages are said to promote cardiovascular diseases and are also suspected of promoting cancer.

International cancer researchers therefore recommend reducing the consumption of red meat to a maximum of 750 g (raw) or 500 g (cooked) per week. However, the exact relationship has not yet been found, further research is necessary.

In addition, red meat is also suspected of promoting diabetes. A study by the University of Zurich also shows that sausage lovers have a lower life expectancy compared to people who only eat a small amount of sausage products.

The exact causes are not yet known, but it could be due to the curing salt and animal fats, which increasingly lead to circulatory diseases and promote the development of tumors.

You should therefore eat less red meat, but more  fruits and vegetables. Avoid sausage products as much as possible and only eat high-quality, low-fat red meat every now and then. There are many alternatives that will provide you with adequate protein.

For example, you can include more poultry in your diet. Nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts …) and legumes are also very important! Another alternative is fish, which can also be prepared in a variety of ways.
