Hair loss is a worrying factor and lowers  self-esteem. But with the right methods, the vitality of the hair can be regained. Today we recommend a great remedy for it: A nutrient-rich onion cure for hair loss. Read on to find out more!

Do you notice that your hair is getting thinner? Is it not as dense as it was a few years ago? Factors like stress, dyes, or advancing age can have a major impact on hair health. The onion regimen for hair loss can help you regain healthy and strong hair.

Onions promote hair growth and strengthen hair

Perhaps the first thing you think of is the uncomfortable feeling and smell of the onion on your head. But there are ways to prevent this from happening.

The onion cure for hair loss is a classic, effective remedy. The effects of onions have been scientifically studied.

In 2002 the Journal of Dermatology published an interesting study  examining the effectiveness of onions in treating alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss in a small, specific area).

The test subjects applied onion juice twice a day, after three months positive hair growth was found on the affected areas.

Then we’ll explain the reasons why onions are good for your hair.

The onion is rich in sulfur

Onions contain important sulfur compounds that are excellent for treating older and damaged hair (with dyes or other chemical products).

  • They promote blood flow to the scalp and stimulate the hair follicles to grow faster and stronger.
  • You will also be interested to know that our organism needs sulfur in order to produce proteins and that this process is promoted with onions.
  • The hair can be nourished not only from the inside, but also from the outside with various home remedies.

Onions have antibacterial properties

This property is not only important for fungi or other skin diseases. Day after day, the scalp and hair store a wide variety of pollutants and residues: dandruff, sebum residues and remnants of hair products, dyes, etc.

  • Sulfur detoxifies and eliminates these toxins and waste products.
  • Additionally,  onions are very effective for scalp infections that can cause hair loss.  They contain a valuable enzyme called catalase, which protects against premature aging processes (gray, weak hair).

How do I prepare the nutrient-rich onion cure for hair loss?

ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 spoon of honey (25 g)

Utils

  • mixer
  • bowl
  • spoon
  • Plastic hood

preparation

  • It’s easy. First wash and peel the onion and then cut it into smaller pieces.
    • The easiest way to make the juice for the onion cure is in a blender.
    • This is then mixed with the honey.
    • Before use, the hair is moistened with lukewarm water (never with hot).
    • Now massage the cure with a gentle massage on the scalp.  Then you put the plastic hood on and let the onion-honey mixture work for half an hour.
    • Then rinse well and use a nourishing, fragrant shampoo (rose water, for example, covers the onion smell very well).
    • It is advisable to apply this hair loss treatment two to three times a week before going to bed and leave it on overnight. If you notice that your hair smells like onion the next day or you feel uncomfortable, you can simply wash your hair again.

However, if you use a good shampoo, it shouldn’t leave a bad smell behind.

Other natural remedies to treat hair loss

    • Rosemary water. Simply boil 3 sprigs of rosemary in 300 ml of water (1.5 glasses). The scalp is then massaged with it. Let it work for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
    • Apple cider vinegar supports hair growth.
    • Castor oil keeps hair healthy, shiny and strong.
