Recently, a research group from the University of Granada found that chocolate does not make you fat or interfere with your  diet It has long been said that it is not as bad as its reputation.

A study carried out by HELENA (Healthy Lifestyle in Europe by Nutrition in Adolescence) focused on adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. 1458 subjects were selected to study the eating habits of European adolescents.

Body measurements, sporting activities and the diet of the participants were examined. However, all results were evaluated independently of diet and exercise. The foods were not measured on the basis of their biological value or calorie content.

Even if it does not make you fat, the researchers warned that one should be moderate with the luxury food. They affirmed that chocolate “when consumed in moderation can be very good for the body. In excess, however, consumption can be harmful, because too much of a good thing is no longer good ”.

Ultimately, the researchers cleared up myths and half-truths on the subject and found that chocolate does no harm – even to those who want to lose weight. Even so, you shouldn’t overdo it with your chocolate consumption.
