Ginger and mint isn’t exactly a classic drink combination, but once you’ve tried it, you’ll have to admit that you should have figured it out much sooner. The good thing about it: Ginger with mint works equally well in hot and cold drinks!

Combining ginger with mint sounds easy, but so far there are hardly any drinks on the market that combine the two spices. Both are healthy and refreshing and both are often used individually in tea: ginger tea and mint tea. So why not combine ginger with mint?

Before you get started, make sure that the ingredients you use are organically grown. In particular, if you pour hot water on mint or leave it to soak in cold water for a long time, there is a high risk that the pesticides on the leaves will also get into your drink. Ginger is also better in organic quality, because it often comes from China and is of dubious quality.

Try the following recipes that combine ginger with mint:

Here the taste of ginger with mint is combined completely calorie-free into a refreshing thirst quencher. You only need three ingredients:

  • 1 sprig of fresh mint
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
  • 1 carafe full of water (sparkling or sparkling)

Rinse the mint well with cold water and place the sprig in the carafe. Then peel the piece of ginger and give it a quick wash to remove any residue from the peel. Keep in mind that the pesticides from the peel of fruit and vegetables can pass onto your fingers when you peel them and can also contaminate the peeled product!

Ginger also goes well with mint in smoothies. Whether combined with fruit or pure, the combination of ginger with mint is always refreshing! For a sour, refreshing smoothie you need:

  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
  • 1 half bunch of fresh mint
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • A handful of ice cubes
  • water

Place the washed mint leaves and the peeled and roughly diced ginger in a blender with the lemon juice. Then puree to a poison green mass, to which you add ice cubes.

Then mix on the highest level so that the ice is chopped up creamy and add a little more water if desired. You get a bright green smoothie, ice cold, refreshing and with a good portion of vitamin C.

You can also combine a delicious tea from the classics of peppermint tea and ginger tea. It tastes particularly good when you can use fresh ingredients:

  • Fresh ginger
  • Fresh mint

Incidentally, with the mint it doesn’t matter which mint it is. Basically, they all go well with cinnamon. It doesn’t always have to be peppermint, why not try the nana mint, for example, which you can get fresh in oriental vegetable stores.

You can simply scald ginger with mint freshly with boiling water and then sweeten the resulting tea with honey. If you have neither fresh mint nor fresh ginger on hand, you can also make the tea entirely from dried ingredients:

  • 1 sachet of mint tea
  • ½ teaspoon ginger powder

Make sure the powder doesn’t clump as you brew it. Before you drink the tea you have prepared in this way, wait until the cinnamon powder has settled on the bottom of the cup. If you don’t have the patience, pour the ginger powder into a tea filter bag and then pour boiling water over it.
