Homemade facial cleansers

If you  want to use a homemade, natural facial cleanser to care for your skin or because the usual facial cleanser has just run out, you’ve come to the right place.

There are many different ways to cleanse the face without off-the-shelf products. Learn more about the best natural facial cleansers in this post .

Make-up removal recommendations

It all depends on how much makeup you use and where you put it on.

If you use a lot of mascara and eyeliner, it will likely take a little longer to remove, as most of them are waterproof. The same goes for a good, thickly applied lipstick.

The rest of the face is easier to clean. Wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water and pH-neutral facial soap to remove makeup. You won’t completely remove eyeshadow, blush, and foundation, but this is just the first rough job.

You only need a few minutes and then your facial skin will look beautiful, pure and radiant.

Never go to bed with an uncleaned face or make-up, the next day you will not only find spots everywhere, the skin will also suffer as the pores cannot breathe.

This will make your skin oilier and allow acne, pimples, and black pores to multiply. Even if you are very tired, you should take a few minutes to remove the makeup.

If you wear contact lenses, remove them before cleansing your face so that the face cleanser does not irritate your eyes or damage your contact lenses.

Homemade, natural facial cleansers

  • Yogurt Cleansing:  Apply a thin layer of yogurt to your skin and let it work for 10 minutes. Then remove with cotton wool or a damp cloth and a little lukewarm water.
  • Lukewarm milk:  heat a little milk and use it to moisten some cotton wool. Use it to clean your face by gently tapping the made-up areas with the cotton ball (e.g. eyes), then applying a little more pressure, but not too much, so as not to cause irritation. Then rinse with lukewarm water.

  • Olive oil  is excellent for dry skin. Put a few drops of olive oil on your skin and distribute it with a gentle massage. Then remove the oil with a damp cloth and lukewarm water. If you can still see oil residue on your face, you can wash it off with a neutral facial soap. Olive oil is ideal for removing eye makeup, it is very gentle and will not irritate the delicate areas.
  • Hazelnut oil  is recommended for people with oily skin. It does not have a greasy effect and is therefore very suitable for this skin type. Apply the hazelnut oil like the olive oil, then massage it in lightly before removing it.
  • Chamomile and olive oil:  Prepare a chamomile tea and let it cool down. Moisten a cotton ball with it and add a few drops of olive oil. Use it to cleanse the skin of your face, especially the area around your eyes. Sensitive zones are cared for and at the same time puffiness and dark circles are reduced.

    • Almond Oil:  As you can see, oils are great natural cleansers. Almond oil moisturizes and cleanses your skin at the same time. It is also very suitable for sensitive eyes. Use cotton wool with a few drops of the oil, then apply it directly to the skin. You can also mix almond oil with castor oil to strengthen and lengthen the lashes.
    • Jojoba Oil: A great facial cleanser. You can use it to remove make-up from your face in just a few minutes. It helps to make the skin soft and elastic. Mix one scoop of jojoba oil with two scoops of water, then apply this mixture to your skin with circular massages to cleanse it.

      • Vaseline oil  can also be used to effectively remove mascara and eyeliner. Put some petroleum jelly (very little is needed) on a cloth or cotton wool, then use it to remove the makeup. Since it is very thick, it has to be removed afterwards. Then just wash it off with lukewarm water.
      • Canola oil:  If you mix this with olive oil, you can remove the make-up in seconds. Mix 3 to 4 spoons of canola and olive oil in a cup. Use this to moisten some cotton wool, then remove the makeup with a gentle tap. Then wash your face thoroughly.
        • Strawberries:  For a strawberry cleansing milk, you need 5 large strawberries and three spoons of natural yogurt. Mash the fruit and mix it with the yogurt (you can use a blender to make it go faster). Then apply this mixture to the skin of your face with circular massages and let it work for a few minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water and cotton wool.
        • Yogurt and lemon  are ideal for every skin type. Mix a spoonful of plain yogurt with a spoon of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to the face, neck and neck area, it acts like an exfoliator and brightens the skin. Then let the mask work for a few minutes, then remove it with damp cotton.
